The stories that I’ve been getting through email, on Facebook and through missional communities about what God is doing through our new series Meaning has been incredible.
This week, we are going to be diving into some important, but difficult and often painful personal waters as we look at Ecclesiastes 3:16 – 4:16:
Last week we looked at why God allows the things to happen in our lives that are painful or difficult. You can listen to it here if you missed it.
This week, we will look at those situations that have hurt the most (a spouse walks out, a child rejects you, you fail a class or miss a promotion, someone cheats you, betrays you, a parent leaves you, breaks promises, abuses you, uses you) and how to handle them.
For many people, these times are paralyzing, destroying our lives. Yet, Scripture tells us they don’t have to be the end of the story, like they often are. The question we often ask, “How do I stop letting this person take up residence in my heart, mind and life?”
That’s what we’ll uncover this week.
Here’s a few things you should be aware of:
- This weekend is Disciple Now for Rev Up. If you have a student 6-12 grade, you need to get them to this. If you don’t, be praying for our students this weekend and that Jesus would grab a hold of their lives in a new and powerful way. Pray for our Rev Up adult leaders, that they would have energy for the weekend and that God would use them in the life of our students.
- We are also continuing our sign-ups for our Spring Missional Communities. If you don’t know what an MC is, you can go here to read more about them.
- We are also having an informational meeting right after church on February 10 about a summer missions trip through Revolution Church to the Czech Republic.
- If you haven’t “Liked” the Revolution Fan Page on Facebook, do so now. It is one of the ways we communicate and pass on resources for sermons and other ways to help serve you in your spiritual growth.
This is definitely a week you don’t want to miss at Revolution Church. So, bring someone with you (you never know when a simple invite will make an eternal difference).
Remember, we meet at 8300 E. Speedway Blvd. at 10am.
