Monday Morning Mind Dump…

  • Yesterday was simply awesome
  • We baptized 3 guys yesterday
  • Always love hearing the stories of God’s grace and redemption
  • It was cool to see a father baptize his son
  • What a gift on Father’s Day
  • My sermon yesterday was on John 5:18 – 47 and looked at Jesus’ relationship to His Father and what it means to be a man and leave a legacy
  • If you missed it, you can listen to it here
  • Also, one of the next steps was to write a personal or family mission statement
  • Here’s something I put together that walks you through the process that Katie and I went through as we did that
  • I’ve been blow away the last few weeks at Revolution
  • If we continue growing the way we are, June will be our biggest month ever!
  • That’s crazy because most churches decline in the summer time but God keeps growing us and working in people’s lives
  • So humbling to see and be a part of that
  • Saturday was a humbling day for our family
  • We had our work day to raise money to bring our son home from Ethiopia
  • We had over 40 people come out and help by working on the home of a widow
  • I was blown away by how much we got done but also that people would give up a Saturday to sweat to raise money to bring a child home
  • We have raised more than 50% of what we need to bring him home
  • If you haven’t given yet and would like to, you can do so here
  • Completely tax-deductible
  • We’re waiting to hear, but a news organization in Tucson may be doing a story on our adoption, so be praying for that
  • That would be huge to help spread the word and the idea that adoption is normal and a beautiful picture of the gospel
  • One of my goals for the summer is to read through the books of Tim Ferriss
  • He’s the author of The 4 Hour Work Week, The 4 Hour Body, and The 4 Hour Chef
  • I’m halfway through the work week one and getting a ton of ideas on how to become more efficient in my life and work
  • Really helpful stuff
  • Pretty excited that tonight is guys night out
  • Grabbing some food with my dad and a friend and then seeing Fast & Furious 6
  • Can’t believe they still make those movies and that they get good reviews
  • Stuff blowing up and fast cars = awesome
